Dad, it's been a difficult year. It started in October 2023 when your dear Podger was diagnosed with lung cancer. It is a cruel world. She fought as hard as she could but gradually it took over and she sadly passed away on Friday 17th May 2024. We said our final goodbyes yesterday 19th June 2024 at Aldershot Redan Road Cemetery - the crematorium was under going renovation. A small friendly chapel very cosy. She was surrounded by her family and dearest friends. Among them Sandy Warwick, Linda Clawes and Peter and Anne Bradley. Her brothers Peter, Keith and Bobby. Sister Maureen. She would have enjoyed the attention. We remembered you in her eulogy read by Hayley Pickering - who did your eulogy. Peter and Susan read two lovely poems one from the Officers Mess and one I made up with Susan's help. You should be together again and looking after each other. Sending our love as always to an amazing Dad and Mum.

Hi Dad,
At this time of year we think of you with fondness. The laughter, tears of joy your love for us all. Polly, Bonnie and Rose are all doing really well and growing up fast. You'd love them all and be as proud of them as we are.
It is with sadness that I had to tell you, your Podger has been ill for sometime, coughing, lack of breath and generally lethargic. It transpires she has Lung Cancer.
Its' pants she doesn't deserve this. So we will do everything to make her time with us happy, comfortable and as pain free as possible.
She isn't ready to be with you just yet but keep her side of the bed warm.
Love you always.
